Women have faced pressure from centuries to look good
and achieve the standard of what society thought was the best body shape to
have then. They used contraptions of all sorts, safe and unsafe, to try and
achieve that unrealistic body goal. Even today, celebrities from all over the
world look so slim and athletic that women face pressure to look like them.
This is a well known fact. What is not so well known is that even men are being
pressured to look fit and have abs. Celebrities like Chris Hemsworth, Bruce
Willis, Chris Pratt, and so on have the ‘perfect’ body and men are asked to
look like that in order to look desirable. This is why the fashion industry
created girdles for men.
These girdles for men work like any other
girdles- they tone and tuck away the bellies of those wearing them. They help
the user look like he works out every day and is ripped- a look most men strive
for. It is not only the fatter men that opt for this, even underweight or thin
men try girdles for men to look bulkier and more appealing. This is
becoming a widespread, world wide phenomenon, and the media is only furthering
this hysteria to look what the society considers is good.
True acceptance of your own body is all important, and
the day people realise this, they can go back to living their lives peacefully.
Until then, men will have to suffer girdles.
